Fingers and teeth Galileo Galilei Discovered Back

As many as two knuckles and a tooth, the first taken from the corpse of Galileo Galilei in Florence's Basilica in the 18th century and was declared missing, now recovered and will soon be on display. Said an Italian museum director, Friday.
Three fingers, one chamber of the spine, and a tooth taken from the corpse, the astronomer by a number of fans in the year 1737, at 95 years after his death. At that time, his remains were moved from storage to the tomb monument across from the tomb of Michelangelo in the Basilica of Santa Croce, Florence.

Knuckles found one shortly after the incident and is now part of the collection of the Museum of Science History in Florence. Vertebrae are also found stored at the University of Padua. First, Galileo taught for years in that place.

However, teeth and two fingers of the hand of the scientist's right-thumb and middle finger-is saved by a lover, an Italian marquis, and then stored in a container that passed from generation to generation within the family. It is said Paolo Galluzzi, Director of the Museum of History of Science.

"But over time, the family's future generations forget the actual contents of the container," according to Galluzzi and explained that they then sell. In 1905, relics that have disappeared do not leave tracks, "so that the experts theorize that the relics had been lost forever," was the official statement of the museum.

However, containers that have recently appeared in a auction and purchased by a private collector interested in the contents of the container though not sure that it really contains the relics of Galileo.

The buyer finally contacted Galluzzi and culture officials other Florence. They refer to historical documents in detail, and also documents from the family which had been a container. Then concluded that the fingers and teeth were indeed owned by Galileo. Said Museum Director.

All the relics were kept in glass-blown vases of the 18th century, which is also stored in a wooden box inlaid with mother-figure statue of Galileo heads.

Galileo, who died in the year 1642 had been condemned by the Vatican because it states that the Earth revolved around the sun. Church teachings when it believes that the Earth was the center of the universe. In the early 1990s, Pope John Paul II to rehabilitate the name of Galileo, and acknowledge the mistakes of the church.
Florence Science History Museum will be showing off his fingers and teeth are coming in the spring.

Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei born in Pisa, Italy on February 15, 1564 from the couple and Guilia Ammannati Vincenzo Galilei. He was the first child of seven siblings. His father was a musician and scientist who came from noble families.
Galileo's childhood was spent studying at home under the guidance of his father. Recently when he was 11 years old he was sent to the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria di Vallombrosa, a special school for the children of the nobility. There, Galileo learned about many things, including Latin, Greek, religion and music. Since Galileo's childhood is a person who does not easily accept the fact without proof.

Then his father sent Galileo to the University of Pisa to study medicine, but he turned out more like mathematics and physics. Galileo was interested in the theory proposed by Aristotle, that objects are weighed differently if imposed from above, speed down the fall will be different as well. While Galileo assumed that rain down hailstones will fall to the ground at the same time regardless of the weight difference of the hailstones. Galileo then experiment with dropping the ball from the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The experimental results into a new theory in physics.

Year 1589, at the age of the twenty-five, Galileo was appointed professor of mathematics at the University of Pisa. In those days a lot of new discoveries in astronomy, physics, mathematics and science continue to be extracted by optical Galileo. Galileo's work and then expanded to the discovery of Geometrical and military compass. He also made thermoscope, tripod microscope, telescope.

Galileo telescope is the ultimate discovery. By using the telescope in astronomical observations, he discovered moons jupiter and venus forms. He immediately understood that the forms of Venus is caused by the sun that illuminates the orbiting planet. This is proof that the earth is not the center of the universe. Through Galileo's telescope to observe and describe all forms of the moon, Milky Way, clusters of stars and the phenomena which confirms that not only the earth in this universe. Contrary to the Ptolemaic system, Galileo made a hypothesis that the Earth is one of the many members of the solar system.

He hid his findings that may be deemed "dangerous" by the relevant authorities in the form of words in the language game. In 1611 Galileo went to Rome to discuss his findings about the sun and its position in the universe with religious leaders. Church Council can not accept the view that is based on Galileo's heliocentric theory (of the sun as the center of the circulation of the solar system) of the Copernican doctrine as contrary to the established church. Galileo is considered against the Church and sentenced to house arrest. He was exiled to Siena until his health declined even further impaired vision. Finally, he breathed his last in Arcetri, Italy on January 8, 1642.

In 1612, Galileo went to Rome and joined the Accademia dei Lincei to observe sun spots. In that year, opposition arose to the theory of Nicolaus Copernicus | Copernicus, Galileo supported the theory. In the year 1614, from Santa Maria Novella, Tommaso Caccini denounced Galileo's opinions about the movement of earth, giving the assumption that the theory is misguided and dangerous. Galileo himself to go to Rome to defend himself. In 1616, Cardinal Roberto Bellarmino submit notices which forbid supports nor teach Copernican astronomy.
Galileo wrote saggiatore in the year 1622, which was subsequently published in 1623. In 1624, he developed one of the early microscope. In 1630, he returned to Rome to make a license to print book Dialogo sopra i due sistemi del Mondo massimi which was subsequently published in Florence in 1632. However, in the same year, the Catholic Church a verdict that Galileo should be held in Siena.
